The White House
Paintings of the White House
The front cover of this folio of twelve cards and envelopes is a painting by John Ross Key of The White House,1914. A very detail presentation that at first glance would appear to be a photograph. On the back of the packet are two historical portraits of the building as it was in the 1860's. Inside the packet there are details about the paintings and a brief explanation about the White House and White House Historical Association
There are four blank cards for each painting, each with details about the work. The card size is 6"x 4.25"
Severin Roesen Paintings
Three paintings by Severin Roesen are hung on the walls of the White House. Their crisp and vivid color with attention to minute detail is perhaps due to his early training as a porcelain painter in Germany. In 1848 at the age of 33 he came to America where he spent the remainder of his life.
Floral Still Life With Nest of Eggs was chosen as the cover for this attractive folio of cards with two other wonderful detailed paintings on the back. There are four blank cards for each painting and they come with fitting white envelopes. The cards measure 6"x 4.25".
